Jun 20, 2012: Parent Coffee TalkAlma Gepford, RN, CDE
Life with children is a balancing act and can present its challenges; throw a child who has T1D into the mix and it can be an even greater challenge. Alma will discuss methods to find balance, cope with siblings who do not have T1D, and how to deal with the demands of a child with T1D.

Diabetes changes lives forever and the Nevada Chapter of JDRF is here to let you know that you’re not alone.

Join our group comprised of the families who have been recently diagnosed, veterans of the disease, and simply those who would just like to know more about type 1 diabetes.

We share resources, insights, and encouragement to help all of us make life a little easier when faced with the challenges that diabetes presents.
We hope to see you there.

Nov 10, 2012: Walk to Cure DiabetesThe JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes is fun and family-friendly, featuring plenty of entertainment, food, and kids’ activities.

Last year the Nevada Chapter welcomed over 3,500 people in the Southern Nevada community to "Walk to Cure Diabetes” at UNLV, raising nearly $560,000 to drive diabetes research.

Join us as a walker this year! You can raise funds by asking friends, relatives, and co-workers to sponsor you while participating in this non-competitive Walk. Companies can contribute through corporate sponsorship and by selling ‘paper sneakers’ for $1.00 to customers, or by creating their own Walk Team which provides innovative in-house programs and events with employees.
